years. He is a renowned businessman of southern part of India with huge
reputation and credibility in the market. His family also has a political
background with couple of family people holding prominent say in the politics
in the Southern part of India.
An
experienced businessman, he has vast experience in handling distribution of the
products in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States of India.
His family and
friends are in the businesses of distribution of different products related to
tobacco including Cigarettes, and FMCG products of different companies. He also
runs businesses related to Gold, Jewelry and precious metals. He also have a
vast portfolio of real estate assets including hotels. He is also big time into
media with a leading newspaper and an English news channel, which he has
recently divested.
Belonging
to the Andhra Pradesh region of India, which is a tobacco heartland of the
country. Mr. Bollam knows the entire tobacco fraternity including tobacco
farmers, manufacturers, distributors and so on. He is deeply entrenched into
the tobaccos market and business.
He
is an investor with deep pockets and knack of getting into large businesses. He
also have excellent relationships with banks and financial institutions, by
virtue of which he is able to get large LCs, term loans and working capital
easily to transact large volumes of business.

is an accomplished professional with 25 years of much diversified global
experience. A MBA graduate from New York specializing in International Business
and Finance with an engineering degree, gives him a very unique blend of
analytical mind and business acumen. He has worked in several industries across
the globe ranging from investment banking, insurance, telecom, information
technology, retail, real estate, and infrastructure. He possess an extremely
rich exposure of multi-cultural working experience having worked in several
continents like Americas, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, South Asia, and
South East Asia.
Gaurav
has held several senior management positions in large corporates, and possess a
rich experience of representing in global forums, participate extensively in
board meetings, and presenting business cases to many board committees.
His
versatile expertise range includes mergers and acquisitions, conceptualizing
and implementing strategies, creating new business models and revenue streams,
developing strategic partnerships, digitalization, bringing technology to the
fore to transform the conventional businesses, public advocacy, stakeholder
management, go to market strategies, scaling the businesses and so on.
Gaurav
comes from a trading business family from a Northern region of India. His
earlier two generations have been the traders in the northern part of India,
they used to do trading in wheat, pulses, rice, salt and several other
commodities. His family has been the sole distributor of Hindustan Unilever
Limited of one of the northern state of India (Uttarakhand State) from last
many decades, they are also distributors for Lipton Tea, Lakme and several
other global brands. Their family is known for setting up the entire
distribution network in one of the most challenging hill terrain of Northern
India. They were very successful in getting the products delivered to the
remotest places as far as tiny villages up the hilly terrains.
He

Gaurav
since childhood has been fascinated by the trading business and learnt the
nuances of the business all the way growing up. He used to accompany his father
and uncles on the distribution drives that lasted several weeks. This exposure
has given him an in depth understanding of the psychology of the small
retailers, shop keepers and the end consumers. He still remembers the
introduction of the cash discount in the early 90s to gain the traction of the
retailers, by increasing their profit margins and in turn improving the
business cash flows.
Gaurav
has an interesting mix of wisdom gained from family trading business and modern
management. He is of the view that India needs globally reputed brands to serve
the largest consumers in the world. He is very bullish about India growth story
and believes that no global corporate can afford to be absent from India.
